Anastasia Pirvu
Anastasia is a self-taught documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Her journey into photography began as a deeply personal one, right after leaving her native Moldova at the age of eighteen. What started as a means to reconnect with her roots during visits home has evolved into a distinctive documentary style that captures the subtle magic in everyday moments.
Drawing from her own experience of migration and cultural duality, Anastasia's work explores themes of belonging, identity, and the relationship between humans and their environment. Whether working on personal projects or commissioned documentaries, she likes to highlight the poetry of daily life, finding and framing moments that transcend the ordinary.
